About me

Hi, I’m Ruby Mae. I’m a humanist celebrant and actor from County Antrim. I’m a lover of words, dancing, nature - and most of all, I love LOVE! 

I’ve travelled extensively across the globe, from Mongolia to Mexico and beyond, and witnessed love being expressed in a vast range of cultures, in different languages and through unique traditions. I believe there is no right or wrong way to express your love – there is only your way. With a background in theatre and performance, I have the skills and creativity to make your ceremony unforgettable.

I first became interested in becoming a humanist celebrant after attending my niece’s naming day ceremony. It was such a unique and joyful celebration, telling the story of their young family so far and encapsulating their personalities and values perfectly. I thought, “What a beautiful thing to be a part of. Now…how can I make that my job?!”  and here we are! I’m now a member of the Humanist Society NI and approved by the General Register Office NI to conduct legally-binding marriage ceremonies throughout Northern Ireland.
